MasteriflemanReloader 15 and the .416 Rigby
I don't know if this particular powder and cartridge combo has been talked about before. According to a close friend, to closely approximate a cordite load, you need to multiply the original cordite load by 1.19 to achieve the equivalent load for RL-15. According to my friend, the cordite load with a 400 gr. bullet in the Rigby was 71 grs. Using that figure and the multiplier, you would use 84.5 grs. of RL-15.
Has anyone any experience with this powder/ bullet combo?

lawndartYes.
Be sure to use the Kynoch brand foam spacers to help fill the case. Use an F 21555 or 215M primer.
That load will give you 2,300 fps. The recoil will be significantly less than the standard 98 grains of H4831 load.
I believe that Federal just uses something very similar to RL-15, and their unobtainable F 216 primer for their Ammunition.
Kynoch uses the above mentioned spacers. Both loads perform just fine.

MasteriflemanLawndart - Thanks, that's just what my friend said. The lower recoil was what I was looking for while maintaing reasonable velocity. Do you know where those Kynoch spacers are available?

lawndartKynoch out of England will sell them to you direct for nine pounds per 100.
Also, give the US Kynoch distributor a call and ask if they carry them.
I am getting some punch cutters from buffalo arms to make my own. Probably two months away for that project.
