Herters Press Shell Holders
Does anyone know where I can get Shell Holders to fit the old Herters #3 Reloadiing Press?? This press is a real horse and I wouldn't trade it for any three presses on the market today...

Reddman,

I use a Herters press also. RCBS sells an adapter that fits on the ram. This allows you to use any of the wide selection of RCBS shell holders. Works great.

Are those ol' Herter's workhorse presses nice or what? Got one on an online auction last
fall and just love it! Don't know for sure what model it is, other than it said "Herter's
Rifleman" on the box. It apparently sat around for 99% of its life as it appeared hardly
used at all, with no wear to it. And best of all, it accepts all the newer shellholders!

Does anyone have any idea who made the presses for Herter's???

Yep, that's the same one I got on my Herters outfit. As I recall, it was ten or twelve bucks at the local gunsmith shop. It's always good to know I'm not the first guy with that problem. [Wink] Oh, and BTW, it work great!

I have a massive Herters six hole turrent that came with some other gear I bought and I wouldn't take for it. I made an adapter out of a extra RCBS ram.
