Rick 04Who's got a barnes reloading manual?
Hi,
If anyone has a barnes manual I was wondering could you look up 2 loads for me. I have a generic reloading manual though just want to check what they have in theirs.
270 winchester, 130 grain TTSX (TSX data can be used I think). Could you state the starting load and max loads when using both Reloader 19 and reloader 22. If they have the barrel length stated to that would be good.
Thanks

N E 450 No2The newest Barnes Manual I have is the No3.
So these are loads for the regular, non banded X bullets.
130 XFB, or 130 XBT
RL 19 start load 54.5 2936fps, max load 58.5 3152fps.
RL 22 start load 56 2956fps max load 60.0 3167fps.
Hope this helps.

djpaintlesBarnes manual number 4 lists:
RL 19 56.0start 3026 59.5max 3211fps
this is for the 130 TSX BT or 130gr MRX BT
They don't list RL-22.
I've shot up to 61.0grs of RL-22 with the Tipped TSX.
Good luck................DJ

Rick 04Thanks for the replies gents.
DJ, any idea what velocity your getting with RE22? I find it strange they don't list this powder. I was leaning to RE22 instead of RE19. Would of been nice to get some official data on some RE22 loads.

djpaintlesI don't know why they don't list RL-22 for the 270, it's my favorite powder for them. On 270 likes 140gr Accubonds and 60.0grs of RL-22 and the other shoots 61.0grs with a 130gr TSX.
With the 61.0grs and the 130gr TSX I get about 3075fps even though my Sako Finnlite has a 20 7/8" barrel. I think that over 3100fps would be normal for a 22" barrel.
RL-22 has always been an accurate, high velocity powder for me. I've never had near as good of results with RL-19.
Good Luck with yours!......................DJ

Rick 04Thanks.
Using a weatherby with a 24 inch barrel. Should get a decent velocity out of it then.
