Pulling 9mm Bullets
Boy that was fun. Loaded up 300 9mm last week. Went to the range and between my 2 CZ 16 out of 20 didn't have enough pressure to cycle. Roll Eyes

My own guess is I had the scale set incorrect. I sear I used that load before.

Anyway just stood there and pulled the remaining 280 so I can redo them. coffee

As usual just my $.02

As long as he bullets were coming out the barrel I would pull them by shooting and pactice malfunction drills

I thought about that. Wife didn't think much of the idea.

Well after weighing the charge and checking my data. I will call it a senior moment. Either I pulled the wrong line from the data or I set the scale wrong. .4grains of Accurate No5 less than I normally shoot. Still middle of the load data. Simply wouldn't function my CZs.

Will check it 3 times instead of 2 next time. Make up for turning 65. Big Grin

It happens, Paul. Be glad they cleared the muzzle!

A couple of years back, I loaded a whole box of .40 S&W with H4350 instead of HS-6.

The bad news is I had to pull them; good news is I realized it when I was pouring the powder from the loader back into the bottle that I'd made the mistake.

When I brought my first progressive I was busy cranking out bullets 9mmL.

I looked up and there was and empty powder measure.

I had a 8x10x6 inch box full.

I shot them up and kept a brass rod handy.

A lot of banging then a pop then drive the bullet out.

I didn't do rapid fire with that box.

A lot easier then pulling them

Wink Just saying it made me remember to verify the load several times. Getting old enough that memory or even reading my notes isn't always correct. Roll Eyes

I have pulled a lot of bullets in my day.

Yesterday I pulled a couple and found my impact puller cracked.

Well time for another one

Mad hate when that happens. I used an impact for years. Switched to a RCBS collet and never looked back. tu2

We used to have to pull rifle bullets quite a lot many years ago.

When we had to load a bunch of different loads, and sometimes find that they are to hot for the intended rifles.

Thankfully, those days are over, as we have our shooting range and loading room next to each other.

We test a few loads before starting to make them.

As long as they clear the barrel you might use a weaker recoil spring on these and once done go back to your full power spring. Like the bulseye shooters do on their wad cuter 45s

Yep, 280 is a lot of pullin'. But there's only one way to eat an elephant, that's one bite at a time. I've pulled a bunch of military surplus ammo for the brass and bullets, and only did as many as was comfortable in one sitting. Sometimes a hundred or so and sometimes 10... Cool
