Forming 257WSM Brass from .300WSM brass??????
I'm having one heck of a time trying to figure out how to do this. do you just run a piece of 300WSM brass though a .257WSM FL sizing die or is it more complicated than that? I'm in the process of have one built and a few things I "assumed" now need to be clarified. Thanks, TC

jeffeossoi just tapped them into a fake chamber, and then bought a redding insert 300wsm die, with a .29x? neck. worked great... I made the chamber from die stock, cut it with a chamber reamer (only thing I had) and use it as a forming die. works fine.

<grkldoc>I've been shooting 6.5 WSM. I just take a 270 bushing die which is readily available from redding and place the appropriately sized bushing for 6.5 usually .294". The .257 is only .007 smaller I don't see why this can't be done. I also started with 270 WSM brass and didn't have to neck turn and still got about .002" clearance in the chamber neck.

<JOHAN>It should not be a problem. The only extra work that can come up is a bit of neck turning.
It's good work to do when you don't want to socialize with family or mothers in law
I'ts also good work to do instead of watching telly
Cheers
