Has anyone seen a 30-06 or other round loaded with 1 shot pellet. A guy at the range had some and he said he uses them on birds & rabbits when he is deer hunting. I did not have time to ask him what load he was using.
Does anyone have loads?

I think he was probably using a 00 Buckshot pellet in the tip of the 30-06 case?
This seems to be a fairly common thing on the 30cals for plinking cans etc from what I understand.
I don't own a 30 cal but have seen the pics of a similar setup.

It's fun to thumb a 0 or 00 buckshot-ball into the mouth of an '06 case primed with a Large Pistol primer and five grains of Bullseye. I will thumb the ball into the mouth enough that I can rub a little bullet lube in around the edge of the mouth, up against the ball.

In shooting these loads, several tips: first, be sure to settle the powder back against the flash hole for each shot. Otherwise, the shots will be inconsistent.
Second, this load is powerful and not to be taken lightly. If you want an indoor load, use two or so grains of Bullseye, which STILL steps out.... Either load, used as directed, will kill small game --or folks........
