What to do with H322?

MssgnWhat to do with H322?
So I have ended up with several pounds of H322 powder. Tried it in a couple of cartridges including 7.62x39 but have yet to come up with a load that is accurate. Can anyone here recommend a good use for it? Got a pet load using H322?

richj6.8 in an AR although I4198 seems to give better accuracy in 100-120gr.

30378Sell it locally. Works good in 222, 6PPC, 22PPC and some use it with lite projectiles in 6BR.

wasbeemanBuy a .222 or a .223. I don't know how it would do in a fast twist .223 but for the standard 1/14 twist rifles, it's considered a staple. With 45-55gr bullets.

ClassicAlWorks well in the 32 Win. Special as well.

Yup, have used it both, works well.

dellorogood for full-house 45-70 loads too.

MssgnThanks all.
I loaded up some test loads for 308 last night. I know I tried it in 45-70 before and got poor ignition because the case wasn't full enough. Might have to revisit a full power load before I am done.
Failing that I'll offer to swap to someone with a 223 locally.

MuttlySposed to be good in 30-30, got a jug of it to try out thats been sitting here by the computer for a month or so, have,nt had time to try it out. Extra powder seems like a good excuse to look for a gun it likes, or vice versa..
Get an old Marlin, see what happens...

MssgnI had decent accuracy with 150 grain bullets and 38-39 grains of H322 in 308. MY notes tell me that I also had a decent load in 7.62x39 but like an idiot I didn't record which projectile I used!

My thoughts exactly. Only powder I feel is better than H322 in the 6.8 SPC is RL10.

QuintusI load that for a couple diffrent 30-30 single shots with 125 grain Sierra pro hunters and it is very accurate with good velocity in thos guns. It is a devistating deer load that is easy on the niece and nephews shoulders.

RGraffAnother vote for 45-70. Found the best load for my Marlin using it and 400 grain pills.

wrongtargetH322 works excellent under a 125gr Sierra PH SPT in my 30-30AI H&R.

Colt CommanderIts great for the 45-70. Better for pushing 400 gr. bullets to top loads.
Thanks guys. Found good loads for 308 and 45-70

NakihunterIt is perfect for the 222 Rem. Also works for 200 gr bullets in 358 Win.

I just finished loading my last pound of it for my Rem 700 in .223R with 40gr Nosler BT's and Speer psp. 27gr lit with CCI primers. New deer load.
JUST KIDDING! Lighten up!

shortgunIts my favorite powder in the .35 Remington and .358 Bullberry and a few others
Thanks everyone. I liked it so well as a plinker load in my 45-70 (putting just 25 grains of H322 behind a 405 grain cast bullet) that I actually bought more of it! It shoots to the same point of aim at 100 yards as my full power loads but has zero recoil. Love it!

1911reloaderIt is the most accurate powder in my Marlin 30-30. Also listed in Sierra’s manual for their accuracy load for the 30-30.

AtkinsonIts awesome in my 222, 223, 6x45, 30-30. and it incredible in my old mod. 94 25-35, 8x57, just off the top of my hat, but it worked in a couple of others..
It was originally made by Uncle Sam for use in the .308 as I recall..
Keep in mind that it may not be the powder, it just may be the gun itself that doesn't like it. the old adage that a gun is an inity unto itself is fact, not fiction..
