Lyman Products Customer Service
I recently returned a Lyman DPS 1200 scale to Lyman Products for repair. My dog got his tail wrapped up in the power cord, panicked, and took off with it dragging behind him, bouncing it off the hardwood floors.

I returned the scale, along with a note explaining that the damage was my fault and I expected to pay for the repairs. I've had the scale for at least three or four years.

Today, I received my scale back with an upgraded control pad and scale. All done free of charge. They even paid to have it Fed-Ex'd back to me.

It's nice to know that customer service and standing behind your products isn't completely dead in this country!

I have no wish to demean Lyman.....however I can say this is typical of every company in the reloading business.....they all act this way and they all are to be commended for such behavior...

Lyman is in good company and their business attitude is great!

Well, I called them about a new primer feed spring for my Spar-T press purchased (granted) in the late 70's. After 40+ years it broke. The rep said they did not sell it singly but I could get it in a 'kit' that replaced the primer arm for $16.00. I ordered it--- when it came, the part was not in the kit and the kit was just the swing arm-- with no primer feed parts.
So, I called back, got a lady this time who said-- no they did not send the wrong kit and that the part I needed was never a part of it and was out of production. After 40 years, I would expect that. But, to have me purchase a kit that never had the part in it and tell me it did is NOT proper customer service. Then I had to go to the trouble and cost or repacking and reshipping and waiting on a credit to my debit card.

I have had no problems with getting help from them in the past.
Just like the other companies in the reloading business they came through in a pinch.

I will say most of the companies I have dealt with that sell reloading equipment are very good...the only exception to the rule is LEE...I'm still waiting on my replacements for the 3 shell holders that were no good out of the box...they weren't even close to the correct size for the cartridges they were supposed to fit... That was about 5 yrs ago, I will say that was the first LEE product I purchased and it will be the last. thumbdown

I've dealt with Lyman, RCBS, Hornady, Giraud Tool, Dillon, CD4H,.....and have been extremely impressed with all of them. tu2

I send a AMT Autoscale back to Lyman for parts replacement and calibration.
They did not get the calibration issue figured out. They also sent it back with the wrong power supply. I called them and they found a replacement and sent it to me though it was not one of their manufacture.
I figured out how to fix the calibration issue myself and I have received excellent service from the old scale. Lymans techs need to be more careful with the powder scales they work on.

A couple of years ago, I was bringing some Lyman 55 powder measures (3) back from the dead.
I made a list of all the parts needed, made the call to Lyman, got a great gal to talk with, and had the parts at my house a week later.
It just doesn't get any better than that for courtesy and expedited service.
