<< VARGET for .223 >>
I remember seeing a few posts on people using Varget for loading thier .223.
As I have a lot of it lying around, it would be nice to be able to use it, particularaly in my AR15 HBAR.
Never had much joy with it in powder meters though.
I use mainly 55gn proj's.

Any input would be good. (any one else having probs with the search function here)?

I like ball powders in the .223 as they meter in auto loading machines however Varget is an excellent powder for the .223 and is one of the best performers in that round.

I use Varget for everything from 52 gr up to 80 gr bullets in my 223's.

Start around 24 grains or so & find what your rifle likes best.

I use Varget, in my AR-15 loads, for my RRA Varminter.
I don't recall the exact load details, but since I use
55 gr. Nosler Ballistic tips, the powder charge is
just below the Nosler's Reloading Manual's published
maximums. Curiously, the two ball powders I tried(W748,
and H335) did not give me the accuracy with this bullet,
that Varget did. Varget's clean burn, also is a nice
feature, in the semi-auto. Although I am quite satisfied
with Varget, in my quest for even smaller groups, I am
going to try Benchmark. But if I have to live with the
.5" groups I am getting with Varget, I guess I can get
by with that

Will be using Varget with 69MKs in son's Colt AR-15, and in his RR Entry Tactical, whenever Wilson gets the barrels(chrome lined) done for them.
Sqeeze, Try some RE10x in your RRA with the 55s, getting very good results with 55VMAXs. Jay
