Durango ElderReloading 280 Remington
Just purchased a sweet 280 Remington in a Rifle Inc weighting in below 5 lb scoped. Would like to know if anyone has super accurate loads for varment and light game animals?? Have one of these in 340 Weatherby (same weight) and with right load shoots really well. Thanks for your time. D. E.

packratThis doesn't qualify as a light load in the .280, but it does shoot well:
1) 154 grain Hornady
2) 54.5 gr IMR 4831
3) R-P case R-P 9 1/2M primer
4) COAL: 3.3"

olarmyI'd start with the 139 gr Hornady and either 4350 or IMR 4831. good luck!

fredj338I haven't tried anything lighter than the 139gr Hornady in my .280, but w/ IMR4831 or H4831sc I have been able to break the 3/4MOA mark on a regular basis.

Durango ElderThanks for the information. 4831 seems to be the winner so far. I will try that and hope someone else might come up with a load for the lighter bullets. If fredj338 reads this, could you give me your load that you were using. Thanks D E
