I am trying to setup a load using Norma brass, CCI 200 primers, Barnes TSX 140 grain bullet. Since there is not to much material on this combo, I've used "Quickload" for suggestions. It came up with 46.0 grains @58000 psi. O.A.L. 2.800. Aprox speed is 2840 F.P.S. in a 22" barrel. Anyone else try this combo? Any help would be appreaciated.

I have found QL to be a bit generous with charge weights.

My Barnes TSX data shows a max of 41gr of N550 for the 160gr TSX.

Very bad idea to use equivalence for working out max loads but maybe not quite so bad to use it to urge caution. For the same 160gr TSX the max charge of AA2520 is 42gr. For the 140gr TSX the max charge of AA2520 is 45.5gr ie only 3.5gr extra

I would take that as some additional evidence that my experience of quickload is valid.

i have used n550 for over 2 years now with very good results. i have worked up to 47grs with 140gr bal/T & 139gr sst.i would work up carefully, i must be near max.primers slightly flat.speed over 2900fps
