Resizing a Nosler Partition
I run .416 speer 350gr grand slams through a cheap lee .410 bullet sizer to feed my 400PDK. Just wondered if anyone had ever tried to resize a Partition?

As usual just my $.02

Wow, that will be hard to do. Since they are solid copper in the middle.

My thoughts as well. Started to buy some CHEAP seconds and then changed my mind. Figured even if I could get them through the die what would the results be?

Paul When I saw the Nosler 2nd's post that came to mind too, if your get ahold of a Nosler and it works that would be great. Mine 400 is in the mail,, Alaska Bush Mail that is,,,

Would be glad to test it out if someone has one. I simply don't have a 416 and not going to buy 50 to test.

i don't think it will work very well. the center portion of the bullet would have to collapse somewhat, which i think would make something quite unstable

Yep my concerns as well. Assuming I could get it through the die in the first place.

Yeah, had a similar discussion with a friend and his 400 Whelen. I was able to snag some for my 416 Rigby, though.

I have done a lot of form die work in the past 30 years

Forming solids from far tougher materials than copper....

.006?

it will form

Or drill the rear through the partition with a #80 drill then size

The $10 Lee sizing die is not the best in the world. Based on the effort required to push Speer 350grs through it with my Rockchucker I had concerns. More import concern I had would it make the bullet unbalance and effect flight and performance.

Was just on SPS and I it is no longer an issue because the rest of the 416 users cleaned them out. rotflmo
