.308 varmint load
Does anyone have any experience with a light varmint load for the .308?? I am looking at taking a few coyotes this winter. I am currently loading h414 for my .30-06.

The quintessential, premier, can't be outdone, delivers the goods, all others just follow the dust cloud drooling .308 varmint load is:

Drum roll please!

Nosler 125 grain Ballistic Tip
or an equivalent 125 grain bullet

and

51.5 grains of W748

Use a decent primer, not WLR's! And things should go splendidly for you. Seat the bullet about .30" into the case, don't try to load long to hit the lands.

Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about. If you've got a .308 win that won't shoot this load well I'll bet your dog is a vegetarian... [Big Grin]
