7mm mag Pet Loads???
Does anyone have any loads that work for you..I have a Rem 700, 7mag 24" barrel and 150 gamekings. I have a couple of powders; H4831, RL22, IMR4350, IMR4064..
I know my gun will be different but it will give me a starting point.

Thanks salute

Slim5010,

Out of my rem 700 w/ 26 inch barrel..I use

63 gr RL22 under a 160 gr NAB or Barnes TSX...very accurate mid velocity load.

Might be a good starting point w/ your 150's.

Good luck.

I don;t shoot much of anything lighter in the 7mag than 160gr. Kreyten's 63gr of RL22 works under a 160grNP. My other best load is 64gr of IMR7828 w/ the same 160grNP. H8831 is very accurate but you'll lose 100fps to the 7828 load.

Don'cha do it like the old boys loaded the 270? Fill 'er up with 4831 and scrape a little off.

Yeah, but that was old H4831. The newer lots are a bit faster & IMR4831 is faster still, not safe to load old school anymore. shocker

My two pet loads for my 7mags with 140-150gr bullets are 65.0grs of IMR-4350 and 69.5grs of Reloader-22.Both are great, tight shooting loads I've tested in four rifles. The IMR-4350 is just a tad faster, but the Reloader-22 groups a tad tighter.

The old IMR4831 is .039" in diameter and .085" long.

I have enough problems with other stick powder in my RCBS uniflow powder measure.

I buy H4831SC, where SC stands for short cut.

The only load that my 7 mag likes is the 140 grain TSX with 66 grains of IMR4831

I am real fond of IMR 7828 and 140-grain Nosler bullets. The two flavors seem to shoot more or less the same point of aim, and offer something of a choice in results.
