Can someone run Quickload 35 Whelen?
Hi guys,

I have a box of .358 310 GR Woodliegh's I picked up cheap. I want to see how they shoot from my 22" barrel with a long throat. I can pick up 3-4 grains more seating the bullet long at 3.454 C.O.L.

Could someone run quickload using the following powders; RL15, H414, N550, H4895 and AA2015BR. I would like to achieve 2300-2350 fps.

Thanks for your help.

MAX LOADS, reduce 10% and work up!
22 inch barrel, 3.450 COL

H414 60. 4 gr 2341 fps
N550 58.5 gr 2317 fps
RL-15 53.0 gr 2284 fps
H4895 50.8 gr 2186 fps

QuickLoad does not show AA2105BR.

Don,

Thank for the data you are just an encyclopedia info.

Does quickload have the capabilities to choose a powder that best suits the cartidge/bullet combination. Or is it always best to specify the powder you would like to use?

What about RL19,Varget, IMR4064 and H4350.

Thanks again

bigdog,

Yes, QuickLoad will list powders in order of velocity for a given max pressure. I always use it, combined with the advice given on these Forums to choose which powder to buy.

The H414 was best of all powders in the program's data base, followed closely by the N550. H4350 is pretty good if you like a 5% compressed load: 2285 fps from 59.4 grains.

The best IMR was IMR4895, 52.3 gives 2281 fps.

Just curious Don , what did you use for the max pressure level ?
