What's been your experience reloading the Hodgdon line of "EXTREME" powders? Are they as temperature insensitive as Hodgdon claims?

yes they do. but for me where i hunt it does me no good. I usually do my loading around 60-70F that usually gives me a + or - 30F different. So I really can't tell any different with the loading & hunting I do..

Yes. I found RE-19 very sensitive to temp changes but ADI (Extreme) powders not so. If using double based powders I do my load development at the approx same temp I will hunt in.

eg I am planning a hunt in August with a bunch of AR mates for Camels. The max temp is an average 25 deg C there in August. RE-15 is proving very accurate with excellent velocity in my 250-3000 so load development is going full speed ahead now as it is ... 25 deg C.

Barsness in his articles in Handloader claims they are. He echoes Code4's findings on RL-19 compared to H4831. If I remember correctly, I've also read that RL-15 is less temp sensitive that other RL powders.

I have shot the same rifle/scope/ammo from the same spot to 860 meters, in 4 degF and 108 degF with no change in come up. .308 175 SMK over Varget.

Maybe less than other RL powders but certainly not less than Varget or other Hodgdon Extremes.
