Can nickel coated brass be fireform to an Ackley Improved cartridge?

I shoot it in 22K-Hornet,223Ackley,22-250Ackley,243Ackley,25-06Ackley and 375H&H Ackley.

My biggest troubles were with the R/P nickel 25-06 hulls. The adhesion wasn't as good,as in the other cartridges mentioned. I lost the plating on about 30% of those hulls,when forming.

A pard had a poor batch of R/P nickel Hornet brass,as well.

I really like the looks of nickel,especially when used in conjunction with a blue X bullet.

But I'm starting to abandon it's use..........

I commonly fireform Ni brass for a .22-250 Imp and a .280 Imp and have found no problems with the plating. I'm generally using R-P brass.

If you have any problems with it then it will be in the neck area so just slightly outside neck ream and remove the nickle, they sure are pretty when loaded, tri color!

P.O. Ackley's Manual refers to lubing the case prior to fire-forming; do you use this method?
