Just wondering if anyone had a good load for an 18" bareled 308. Something with a bit faster powder maybe to keep velocities as high as we can safely get them.

44gr(max) Norma 202 behind 180gr norma vulkan or sierra RN 180gr.

I've had great luck with IMR4064 for 150g bullets. Varget isn't too far behind for both the 150's and 165's.

Celt, I've found the concept of using a fast powder in a short barrel to be a myth. Whatever works best in a 22" or 24" barrel is what will work best in an 18" barrel. For me that has always been RL15 first and Varget a close second in barrels of 18.5, 19, 20, 22 and 24".
