.243 ACKLEY IMPROVED
Does anyone have any loading data they would share, using 70-85gr. bullets.
Thanks,
Dennis

I'd be interersted in this also. I have a .243 AI on the way. It will be my first improved anything.

Question- is there any other way to get from 243 to the AI version without fireforming? Is there special dies that I can use to achieve this?

StikR,
Fireforming is a piece of cake. You just,(in this case), fire a standard .243 case in the improved chamber and the case expands out to the improved shape. Ackley Improved cartridges have very little case taper and a 40 degree shoulder, which results in more case capacity, more velocity, hardly any case trimming and brass that seems to last forever. There is no mechanical forming. Sweet.
This will be my fourth rifle chambered for an Ackley Improved cartridge.
E-mail me or send me a PM if you want to continue this discussion.
