308SakoRob, Let me welcome you to the AR forums and offer a powder which has worked well for myself and a few friends with this cartridge. that would be the IMR 7828. Best accuracy and velocity for us has been when using Federal 215 magnum primers. Use a loading manual and work up according to established proceedures and satisfaction is virtually guaranteed! Welcome once again.

Savage99Buy some Ballistic Tips for testing. So far they shoot the same as Accubonds.
What powder do you have now? Most work well from IMR 4350 and slower.

boomerSomeone at Alliant had the .300 Magnums in mind when they came out with Re. 22. It is the powder of choice for 180gr. bullets.

JustC74gr RL22 w/ 178gr a-max in a sendero was the load we liked.

woodsAnother vote for RL22. Mine likes the 180 TSX with 76.5 gr RL22. The only thing I would caution is to load lower and work back up to your load when you get a new batch of RL22. My latest batch is a little hotter than the last bottle.
If you happen to go to 200 gr bullets, try H1000.

phurley5Another vote here for RL-22, 75 to 78 grains and Fed 210M primer. The 215M primer blows my group twice the size. My bullets of choice are Nosler Partition and North Forks.

TEANCUMI've liked 77.0 grains of H4831 for 3075 fps under the 180 grain Accubond through a 26" tube.

Yup, 75.5grs. works great with 180 or 178 Hornadys. Jay

waylesHi men I just found me a remington sendero in .300 win mag with a heavy varmiter barrel and a HS precision stock The gun has a long throat it appears . I would really like to shoot 150 grain bullets but the two I have tried have to jump about .100 to reach the riflings if I push the bullet into the case neck where it should be seated . I was using nosler balistic tips and nosler accubonds and 168gr SMK's. What bullet has a good ballistic coificient , no exposed lead, can be properly seated to the correct depth and can be up close to the lands . A flat base would be accepable if need be . I am trying to avoid buying too many boxes of bullets and still not have any thing that meets the critera or works accuratly. If not 150's then what ? 180 grain hornadys work great and fill the critera but provide less speed and more recoil. Thanks for any help
