GEG: I just got my 6.5-300 Wby. this past Friday. I haven't shot it yet so I cannot give you any first hand loads. Sierra's 3rd edition list some load data for the 140 SMK which will work. I would be happy to fax this to you if you supply a fax number. Another thing you could do is go to longrangehunting.com and ask the same question. There are a few on that board that shoot this round. Hope this helps as there is not much data available.

May I inquire who did your work and what barrel
length you picked and what twist? Do you have
any particular bullets picked out to try?
Thanks for your reply. GEG

I have no fax, could you perhaps post some of
that 3rd Edition info please. Thanks GEG

GEG: I also have a 30" 8 twist that was done by Romain's Custom Guns in PA. 142 gr. SMK's is my choice to work with. For a fire forming load I am using 82.0 gr. H-870 and will work up from there. The load data on Stevespages for the H-870 looks close to the Sierra stuff that I will post for you this evening.

GEG: The data in the Sierra book is exactly the same as in Stevespages. It will save me some typing if you will just look at it. This was just a one page thing that Sierra did with a case drawing and these loads, no velocities. These were not Sierra's load data rather the loads of the person who had great success at the 1000 yard matches years ago. When I was searching for load data I called Sierra's tech support and they didn't have any load data for this round. Could I send you an e-mail? If your e-mail is the same as it was last March, I have it. I captured it from another board you posted on.

It is a small world! Ray is going to do mine also.
We both picked 30" tubes, same caliber, same
gunsmith! We need to be able to talk by phone so
we can compare notes. Yes my email is the same
so if we can some how exchange numbers, I can
call you after 7:00 PM CST on my cell phone because it is free then. Email me a test email
and if gets to me, I will email my info back
to you. Looking forward to talking to you soon.
I'll bet you can't wait to shoot yours! Talk to
you later. GEG

GEG: I sent you a test e-mail about 7:30 a.m. (6:30 a.m. your time). You are correct, can't wait to test it out. Weather hasn't been the best lately but maybe in the next few days I'll get a chance.
