I have a group of remington brass hear that I've weighed and it varies from 153-156 grains in weight.How close do you sort it when going by weight?Within 5 grains.......10 grains.....more?

I don't bother to sort by weight.

wood, i start with 100 new brass. I deburr the flash hole first.(243 win. brass). Then sort by weight. The last batch went from a high of 170.9 gr.to a low of 166.5 gr. (4.4 gr difference) I set up two loading tray to hold the brass (100) Under each tray i put a piece of paper and the exact weight is marked for each case. Separating by .1 gr. When done weighing, i will make up batches of 20 cases that are the same weight or with in .3 gr of each other. You may get 5 or so cases on the heavy side(170.9) and 5 or so on the lite side(166.5). Use these cases for set up, neck turning or whatever. Here is a test i did= take five of the heaviest and 5 of the lightest, load , shoot groups with each. Then take 3 heavy and 2 lite shoot a group. Take 3 lite and 2 heavy and shoot a group. Compare. You should see why it pays to weight brass. Ps, your gun must be very accuraty or this is all a waste of time. Using custom dies, and neck turning must be done also. When every thing is correct you should be able to shoot 5 shot groups at 300 yards that measure under 1" on occasion, with some luck and no wind. Hope this helps, 243winxb
