I've never tried cast bullets with 308 Win. Can you guys give me a load to get started?

Ruger Hawkeye Laminated Compact 16" barrel.

Plinking. 100 yards.

In very limited testing using a Lyman cast flat nose gas check using 60% linotype bullets, 13.0 grains of Green Dot at about 1575 fps shows promise as does 21.0 or 22.0 of 5744 at about 1800 fps.

I use Red Dot in mine depending how quite you want them any where from a few grains to the max. load listed

I've had good results with 5744 and RX7.

I don't see anything about bullet weight. I would think that it would be some what important.

That's why I wasn't more specific in my reply.

I have fun shooting 14 gr. of trailboss and 150 gr. berry plated bullets.

With cast bullets and red not really I used red dot with cast bullets from 88grs to 220grs
