Im waiting for my 9.3x62 brass to get here for my resently accuired 9.3x62.
Looking for some printable load data to pin on my reloading room wall to reference.
I have the old speer manual, whats little data on noslers site, The hodgdon/imr site I printed their data except there is no IMR powder data avalible anymore(?)
Ill be useing 286 gr bullets for now
What other powders work good besides what I have on hand imr4895, R15, imr and H 4350, got some 3031(na). how about imr 4064? I found some good r15 loads some one posted
Anyway, anyone have some printable data they could post so I can print some sheets?

GerryRick,
Sorry, out the door to a shoot in a minute. Will follow up later with specifics on this.
In The Fatherland the standard powder (at least for the countless folks I know who load for this cartridge) for the 9.3x62 with 250 or 286 grain bullets is VV N140.
I've used H & IMR 4350 (not speedy but very accurate) H-4895, IMR-4320 and IMR-4064. the last three all gave good results as far as accuracy and relatively solid velocities. I stay with the VV N-140 based on availability but it also provides good velocity and fantastic accuracy.
No longer available; the German Drive Hunt Bullet of Choice for reloaders was the 250 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip w/VV N-140. The new .366" Hornady 286 grain SP's and the Woodliegh 250 grain RN's have showed some REAL promise, too.
Cheers,

Dr. LouI have limited experience loading for the 9.3x62. The powders I have used with desired results are RL15, Varget and IMR 4320. To date I have only used the older Barnes 250 grainers.

kududeI have done a lot of work with the 9.3x62. I have used RL15, 4350's, 4985 and Varget. Varget is the best that I have found. RL15 I found varied from Lot to Lot too much. 4350 is a little to slow and 4895 is a little too fast. Varget is just right with all bullet weights. You can push it too IF, IF you have modern action. You will find factory loads are typically held to pressure appropriate to Model 95 Mausers which were in the 48000psi area. Loaded to 270Win pressures, you can pick up over, well over, 100fps in velocities.
I would suggest using Speer 270gr bullets as a start to see what you rifle likes. It is a good bullet and cheap. My rifle is not picky about bullet weight. I find that Privi 286 bullets are an inexpensive substitute for all the 286gr bullets in working up loads. Kudude

GSP7Kudude, Your assessment of the powders rates is a good one from compareing my 9.3x57 loading experience
I was thinking imr4064 or Varget would be a good choice to add to my powders

jstevensRamshot Big Game seems to be the powder in mine and several others. Accuracy is great velocity will hit 2500 fps with 286's.
A shot not taken is always a miss

Remington720My CZ550FS loves RL15 and Hornady or Nosler 286Gr bullets. Big Game show promise also, but some of the published Loads of Big Game are too warm.

ozhunterHere in Australia, the most common load seems to be approx 58grns of AR2208 = Hodgnen Varget with 286grn bullets.

I also used the 285 Prvis as an in expensive way to work up reloads - Tried IMR-4350, 4895, 4320, 4064 and 3031. I settled on IMR-4320 for 286 NPTs in Graf cases - Getting 3 shot 1 hole groups at 100 yards with velocity right at 2,400 fps.

GSSPIn Nome as I write this heading out in about 5 minutes for Grizzly. My CZ 550 w/ 286 gr Partitions hits 2500 fps w/ 65.9 gr of Big Game, Lapua brass & WLR primers. 1" accuracy. H4895 & Varget gave me 3/4" accuracy with a bit less vel (2350 to 2425 fps).
