voldoc02IS FL SIZING NECESSARY W/ ONCE FIRED Bastard BRASS
Is it necessary to FL size if somone else's 1st fired brass is a snug fit in my chamber?? Or would it be better to FL back to factory specs.?? The brass seems to be a snug fit so I am thinking neck size w/ a Lee collet die and check for runout. advice much appreciated. Caliber is 22-250, for a Rem 700 carbon barrel custom.. thanx, Doc Stone

RicochetAs long as the bolt closes readily, I'd neck size and shoot it.

308SakoThis is just one of my opinions and observations, but I think you are leaning towards this answer anyway! If the brass fits into your chamber WHY MAKE IT SMALLER??? Neck sizing should be more than enough to make accurate reloads which will after this firing be fitted to your chamber without being previously overworked. It's that simple,

unless you have inadequate headspace with someone elses brass.

ricciardelliYouhave to put the shell in the shellholder, you have to put the die in the press, you have to operate the handle.
So do it right...full size any brass that has not been fired in YOUR firearm.

craigsterIf the brass hasn't been fired in your gun, do yourself a favor and full length size all of it before reloading it. Fire it in your gun and then neck size all you want. You just might save yourself a headache or two. I hate pulling down loaded rounds.
