NitromanNeed Yugo 8mm Bullet weight/velocity
I am interested in knowing what the velocity of the surplus Yugo ammo is.
If anyone has chrono'ed this or know what the bullet weight is, I would appreciate the data.
Thanks.

ClarkThe case I got two years ago is 200 gr.
It is not sure fire and it is corrosive.
I was using it to get on the paper.
Then I decided it was too much trouble cleaning the barrel.
So I pulled the bullets and loaded them for the get on the paper shots.
If 200 gr Match Kings will get a 1" group in a rifle, then the 200 gr Yugo bullets will get a 3" group.
They are not good bullets.
So:
1) primers corrosive no good, and 20% misfire; double no good
2) brass is Bedan, no good
3) bullets are inaccurate, no good.

DaManDamn, I'm glad 'Clark' is gone! When he wasn't trying to blow people up with his hot handload recommendations, he was spouting BS!
I chronographed some Yugo M49 heavy ball (vintage 11-53) today in my Yugo M48.
The M49 bullet is 198gr. and is of very good quality for a military FMJ-BT bullet (exposed lead base).
Temps were about 35 degrees F. Mean muzzle velocity was 2,399 fps (pretty close to the advertised 2,404 fps).
Standard deviation was a respectable 12 fps.
quote:
20% misfire
20% misfires?

I've shot over 600 rds. of this stuff and haven't had a single problem.
I don't know what 'Clark' is talking about!
He doesn't either!

Think I just did, Bartsche!

I don't appreciate folks posting idiot "blow-up your gun" loads! That seemed to be Clark's specialty.
