Lee taper crimp question
I just got my .50 Beowulf dies(Lee brand), it comes with a taper crimp. Now I was planning on loading 325 gr. Speers into it , but those bullets don't seem to have a canulure. Can you still crimp it ?? I'd imagine that these need to be crimped when loaded into .50 AE .
yeah, I use and love the Lee Taper Crimp on my 30/30 loads and the 33 Winchester loads. It is the easiest.
If the bullet does not have a cannelure tho, I agree with those who say do not crimp it. However I agree that for that firearm you should use a crimp. I would look for another bullet myself with a cannelure.
Good luck, and "that is all I have to say about that" Forest Gump

geekayI muse The Lee Crimp die fore all my centrefire bolt guns and have no hesitation in recommending them ESPECIALLY for bullets that have NO groove. I do also recommend you read the instructions that come with your LCD.

MADISONTaper Crimp Dies
All a taper crimp die is a sizing die without the decapping stem that has been re-adjusted to close in on the bullet. I have used them for 15 + years for all my handguns.
