7 x 64 v. .280 Rem: What is the difference?
What is the difference between these two cartridges? Can .280 Rem brass be fired in the 7 x 64? Can I use .280 dies to reload for the 7 x 64?

Thanks,

Jordan

Jordan they are very sim. as far as case cap. but they are NOT interchangable. The cases very a bit in rim dia. & shoulder.

If you want a good article that covers this somewhat, Finn Aagaard did a piece on the 7x64 for Rifle magazine (No. 177, May '98).

They are so similar that when he shot out the barrel on his 7x64, he rebarreled it in .280 to avoid the hassle of acquiring 7x64 brass.
