VV133 for 6BR??
an acqaintance at local range really touts vv133. It seems to have too fast burn rate to work. What do you think? does anyone have a pet load that they like for vv133? thanks/ chaz

You're right. V V 133 is a little fast for the BR. It's ideally suited to the PPC. It will work in the BR, as will all powders in that burning range, but V V 135 is a lot better. Now if you shorten the BR back to say, 1.1 or 1.2 inches then you have something. But since you already have the PPC why bother?

thanks/ i had already tried vv135 & didnt get great results. did shoot some varget with berger80's yesterday & the group was decent. my friend gave be one lb of the 133, so i am hoping to avoid the old "throw spagetti at the wall & see what sticks". if anyone has a load suggestion for vv133, I'd appreciate it/ chaz

I've never used V V 133 in a BR but if I wanted to I suppose I'd start with a max load for 6PPC and go up from there.

The 2000 Vihta Vuori manual lists 29.2 grains as max for a 70 grain bullet in 6mm BR Norma for 3104 fps. That's the only load it shows for 133.

First bench test loads//VV133, 27.5, CCI BR4, Lapua brass, 68 Barts-1/2 inch 3 shot gp edge to edge/ 28.4 was 3/8 inch edge to edge/ 28.7 was 1/4 edge to edge. guess vv133 does ok with the light bullet.
