6mm Lee Navy
I can't find any load data on the 6mm Lee Navy. Does anyone here know where I can find information on this obsolete cartridge?

It is been over 40 years since I loaded for the 6mm Lee, but if memory serves me correct, loads can be found in P.O. Ackley's first book on reloading and in Phil Sharpe's book on reloading. the 220 Swift is a neck downed version of the Lee Navy and so by a little reverse enginerring, Swift cases can be made into 6mm Lee Navy cases. Works fine.

I would not shoot an original Lee Navy rifle. A guy that worked for Numrich or some other big gun outfit was killed by one, about a year ago. He was very experienced and knowledgeable. Even so, the action failed and that was the end of him.

scot;
Of all the information I have ever read on the 6mm Lee nothing was ever mentioned that they were
not safe. Where did this infromation come from?. If it is true was it a Lee?. Certainly all straight pull
actions could not be unsafe, the Swiss used them for well over 50 years.
Please respond.

About a year or so ago Val Forgett Jr. of Sarco was killed by a 6mm. Lee Navy Rifle. Maybe someone can confirm or correct my facts? Call Sarco yourself and check it out. I can't find an obituary on the net, sorry. Basically he took a bolt, or part of bolt throught the head. ............... No, not all straight pulls are junk.

I'm trying to get all the cobwebs out of my brain, and it isn't working. Is that the rifle that you could put back together the "right way" and the "wrong way" very easily? Didn't Newton build some guns on some of those? Anyone remember? Dutch.

The first model Ross could be assembled wrong and turned into a death trap.
