Are CH/4D dies any good? They make the caliber I am looking for, for $60 while RCBS (Huntington) charges $119 and Redding is $129. Just wondering if anybody has used them and there impression compared to RCBS and Redding. If I can save a few bucks to buy brass that would be great.

A buddy of mine just purchased a set for 6.5x53 Daudeteau (yeah, they had em in stock). The quality is excellent and he has had no problems with them at all. I think that RCBS is a little too proud of some of their stuff sometimes.

They made my 416/404 custom dies. Very nice. You'll be happy. Ku-dude

I bought a set for 6.5-06 Imp. The work great and the machine quality was really good. Just took a while to get them. But I think if you went with other die manufactures they will probably take just as long. 7 months I waited.

I agree with all of the above. I paid $75.00 for my .375 Weatherby dies rather than $95.00 from RCBS. I also have the 7.65x53 Belgian Mauser die set. I called and the nice lady asked me to wait, came back on the line, she had gone out into the warehouse to get the dies before telling me she had them in stock!

Only one thing I would ask for I think they could improve; putting in the tiny hole in the shoulder area like RCBS does that lets excess sizing lube escape. I know it is only a minor desire but then the dies would be perfect.

bought a set for my .500 linebaugh from them had a problem seating bullets and they worked with me and sent me a shorter seating stem no charge they were great to work with!

338: I had a problem with a 470 NE die set and trim die that I ordered earlier this year. Yes they were cheaper than the RCBS products and yes the people are good to work with (they gave me a full refund when I sent the tools back).

Problems included the trim die which simply was not machined well and would not accept my 470 NE brass, both fired and new. Secondly, the die set was a 3 tool set (sizer, expander and seater dies) rather than RCBS's 2 set system. Again, they promptly gave me a refund.

If you can save a few bucks, try them and know that they stand behind their goods.

I have a set in .585 Nyatti and they work really well. Took ages to get them but they are a good product the equal of RCBS dies I think and they make up the majority of dies I own.

I bought rel dies for 500 A-2 and 460 A-2 Short, it took 8 weeks to deliver and I am very happy with the dies. I can recommend them.

Bought my 333-OKH dies from them, they had them in stock for $60.00. They are a good product. Delivery was prompt.

Thanks for all the information. I ordered my 338/284 dies today. Spoke with a very nice gentlemen and he even checked and they had the dies in stock! A very fair price at $60. I also ordered an expander die to specifically expand from 284 to 338 for only $22. Hopefully, the dies are as good as they are friendly.

As an aside I was talking with this gentlemen about brass and he said Jamison is making brass now. He had some examples and said wasn't too bad.

CH4D makes a great die for the money. However, occasionally you will get a die and wonder what they were thinking when they made it. On the other hand, I have had dies from other makers that weren't right also. I will say that they stand behind their product and are very good to work with and very friendly. If you call them on the phone, be prepared to spend some time just shooting the bull.

Was looking for a 416 Rigby neck sizing dies of which most said (RCBS and others) 4 weeks to 5 mo. Dave Davis owner of Ch4D had 1 in stock and was the nicest guy in the world. Great people.

Lee has told me that they "cannot" make a Factory Crimp Die for my .500 Linebaugh. Can this CH/4D guy? I realize, of course, he'd have to call it just a "Super-Duper Crimping Device"... but as long as it worked exactly like a Lee Factory Crimp Die, I wouldn't care what he called it.
