300 weatherby case capacity
i'm going to start reloading the 300 weatherby,
mostly using the nosler #5 manual. well, my cases are weatherby and nosler uses remington
cases. i have the case capacity of the weatherby brass but does anyone know or would
measure the cap of the remington brass to the top of the neck and post it? my understanding is that the wea. brass has a larger volume than rem. or win brass. at a dollar piece, i'm too cheap to buy rem when i have weatherby brass to use. thanks for any help

skin that one pilgrim and i'll go get you another one!

Well, why on earth do you care? The difference
won't matter, as mostly you can't use the extra
difference anyway...only so much powder will fit.
Besides, you should think about using the new
IMR 7828 SSC (super shor cut) powder as I found the old 7828 was the best powder for the .300 Weatherby, and the new 7828 SSC is better as you can put approx. 4% more in the case for greater
potential velocity...and still have reasonable pressure. Best Regards, Tom

The capacities actually seem to vary a ittle from lot# to lot # but the difference is so small that there is no real difference in velocity potential.Simply watch out for pressure signs like with any other cartridge as you increase the powder charge.
