AllenBoselyBarnes Banded RN modification?
Ok this is prob not a pratical thing to do, but thought I'd ask.
Using a small lathe would if be reasonable to take a Barnes
.423 cal 400 gn RN bullet and put it in the lathe and cut off
some of the base to make it about a 325 gn bullet?
There is a reason for wanting to do this.
I would like a .423 325ish grain RN solid bullet.
I haven't used a lathe before so I didn't know if
I would be able to keep the bullets weight close.

JBrownI think it is reasonable. I know there was a gunsmith in Zimbabwe doing this with the 458 winchester. He was pulling 500gr Barnes solids and turning them down to 450gr.
