6.5x55 question
How many grains of H 4831 do you like behind a 140 gr. Nosler? I'm aiming for 2700 fps plus a little. Of course, if someone else has another idea, I'm open.

Give RE-22 a try. I tried H4831SC in my Swede, but get much better accuracy with Reloader 22. S40

I have a match load that generates 2700fps from my 29" factory Swede tube. YMMV, but my load is 46gr of R-22 behind 140gr Sierra HPBT Match Moly. I use Lapua brass and CCI 200 primers. I don't know what the velocity would be with a non-moly bullet, so you may want to reduce if you wish to try it. A lot of guys seem to like that powder as an accuracy load in that round.

Barnes list 45 grains as max for a 140 grn X (realize they also spec loding 50/1000 off the lands)and they usually have the highest max loads of most manuals. An old Hornady manual (1973) list 46.2 as max in 4831 . I would start at around 43.5 grns and work up

I get really good accuracy and 2800 fps in a 29" tube from 46.5 grains RL22, using 140 grain bullets.

Another vote for RL-22. This powder produces the most accurate loads in all four of my 6.5X55's. I have one sporter built on a Turk action the easily get the 140 grain Hornady over 2700 FPS with a healthy charge of RL-22. This is in a 22" tube.
