hvy barrelPowder suggestions for the 243 win
I am looking to load the 95 grain HDY SST for whitetails. Powder availability here is hit & miss. I was thinking about IMR4064 or Win760.
Any other suggestions?

PanchoI've been using H4350 for years. Haven't found any reason to change.

butchloc4350, H414,WW760 are all great in 243. all similar burning, 4831 is a bit slow, 4895 a bit fast

I certainly second that statement..
4064 is more than what you need for accuracy..sure you may give up a 100 fps MV at most..but you'll gain in tighter groups

It really is impossible to tell which powder will work in an individuals rifle. In two of the .243s I have tested loads using 80 to 100 grain bullets MOA. results have been achieved with the following powders at the indicated velocities with the 100 grain bullets.
DP 86, 3100 fps.
DP 85, 3000 fps.
Accurate 4350, 3100 fps.
Accurate 4064, 3000 fps.
H4831sc, 3175 fps.
What ,of these powders, will function best in your rifle will have to be determined by use.

rick boggsvarget also works very good in my 243

StonecreekThe 4064 will work, but is too fast for optimum velocities with a 95 grain bullet. W760 is a bit better choice.
H4831 is the best I've found for 95-100 grain bullets in a .243. I must vehemently disagree with comments that it is too slow: Any powder which leaves room in the case when maxiumum pressure is reached is, by definition, not too slow. My .243 sporter (which apparently has a
"fast" barrel) reaches 3150 fps (and all the pressure I want to deal with) with a 100 grain bullet using three grains less H4831 than I could crowd into the case. If I loaded the case to capacity with H4831 it would blow primers.
