.44 Magnum loads - with Unique powder
I need a good .44 Mag load using Unique. I am trying 10 grains with 240 gr. laser-cast bullets. I like it, because it is easy to plink with...I know unique can also be loaded hotter. What is about the max that anyone uses with this powder?

I don't use Unique for hot loads; I prefer H110 for that. But, I do use 8.5 of Unique under a cast 250 grain Keith type SWC, sized to .430. Extremely accurate in my gun.

I use 8 - 8.5 grs Unique with 245 grs Keith type bullets. Kicks more than 10.6 grs N 340, same bullet?

Switched the wood grip on the 29-6 to a Pachmyr presentation. Hope this helps group shooting.

Good shooting! H

I do not use unique for the hot loads either. I like to use vvn110 or h110, but I do like unique for the light loads used for plinking or small game.

Joel,

Speer listed 11.6 grains as a starting load and 12.6 as a top end load. This data was taken from the No. 10 manual using Hercules Unique. I don't know if the Alliant unique is exactly like the old Hercules Unique.

You may find current data or download their free manual at at Alliant's site:
