aceman1 bullet for the 7mm-08
What would be your one bullet of choice for the 7mm-08,for all game in which the 7-08 is suited,ie antelope,deer,elk and blackbear.I just purchased a Remington Model 7 in said caliber.My top choices are 140/150 nosler partition,or 140 barnes tsx. Whats yours.

Bobby TomekI'd go with the Partition & base my choice of weight on what my rifle liked best, be it the 140 or 150 grainer. They'll take care of any of the game you mentioned.
The Nosler Partition is still the premium by which others are judged, and you can gets 2nds from the Shooters Pro Shop for around $24-28 per hundred (they often run sales), which is cheaper than even a box of 50 of the Barnes TSX.

Nosler has been making excellent bullets for ever it seems.....but I'd prefer the Accubond myself....150-162 grains

SDhunterPersonally, I would start with the Barnes 140gr.
There is no wrong choice between the choices you listed, just personal preferences.

Bob in TXAny of the bullets mentioned are excellent choices. I have shot all the animals you mentioned except for the elk with my 7mm-08 using the 140 gr. TSX. They have performed flawlessly. I used the 140 gr. AccuBonds for my impala, blesbok, and springbok in Namibia in the 7mm-08. Clear as mud???
With that said, I like to play with loads and shoot a lot. I am currently loading some 150 gr. E-Tips.........
Just use the bullet both you and your rifle like and go huntng!!

I use 7mm 160 NP's in my 280 and load it down. They hit hard.
140 TSX or 150 Nosler Partition would be my choice...

i really think you need 2 choices. i like the 140 sierra B.T. for deer size game. but i would go with a 150 barnes-x for elk and bear. but if i only had ONE it would the X bullet. see which one groups better in your gun.

ELKMAN2I use the 140gr TSX in my wife's rifle, she has killed all the mentioned animals and moose with it.

PeglegI like the 140 grain Accubond in my 7-08. It shoots one hole groups at 100 and why mess with that. If I need more bullet I go bigger in caliber.

I like the 140 overall for that caliber. I would try both the TSX/TTSX and the partition and whatever the rifle likes best, shoot it. If the rifle shoots both types well, then my choice is the Barnes.
I have 1000 7mm 140 TSX and TTSX on the shelf for a reason.

stillbeemanI believe the 7-08 is THE best deer rifle made today!! Its performance window lends itself to excellent results with any of the good standard 140gr bullets. A Core Lokt/Hornady/Hot Core will work with a NP giving add insurance. (Been there, done that, got the Tshirt) A real sleeper, for WT deer anyway, is the 154gr Horn RN bullet.
I would hunt elk with a 7-08 only if it was my only rifle and then I would load a premium 160gr bullet like a NP or Grand Slam.
