7x57 150gr Viht loads
Does anyone have a good 150gr (plan on using rem corelokts) 7x57 load using Viht powders?

Yes! 48-49 gr N 160 in Norma cases w/ CCI 250 or WLR primers, try to get the bullet close to the lands. Aim for 2600-ish fps. The Corelokts seem to move easily through the bbl and this load would probably be considered mild even by Lapua (who are real sissies when it comes to loading old military cartridges...)

The bullet shot decent and worked great on roedeer. I'd be reluctant to use it on moose though.

BTW: I've never gotten the N 500-series powders to shoot particularly good in any cartridge, the N 100-series is all you need. You might get a few extra fps with the 500's, but who cares? Not your game, that's for sure...

The twist rates on 7x57 rifles vary quite dramatically. It is an idea to measure the twist on any 7x57 and ensure firstly that the correct length of bullet is chosen rather than a particular weight. Performance will improve if this is done. Bore diameters of USA sevens and European sevens also differ. Often performance can be much improved by matching the diameter of the bullet to the bore of your particular seven millimetre.
