148g Speer HBWC Question
Trying to load very light .38 Spl target loads using Speer 148 LHBWC (Lead Hollow Base Wadcutter) bullets. Not much in the manuals I have as far as powders or loads that work at less than 800FPS. Looking for ideas.

Hipshoot
The standard OLD TIME load was 2.7 gr. Bullseye!

Dirty but accurate and CHEAP!

From:

The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook lists their #358091 bullet (150 gr. button nose WC) over 3.1 gr. Titegroup @ 854 FPS, 3.1 gr. Bullseye @ 837 FPS, and 3.7 gr. 231 @ 872 FPS.

2.7grs of Bullseye has been std forever...Years ago when LE was required to shoot RN lead bullets in the required 38 M&P we loaded the wadcutter backwards to enhance the performance for combat without the officials knowledge..It worked somewhat better and years later the officials pulled their political heads out of there ass and allowed Hollow points then some years later the 357, was a slow and costly process for the street cop..
