Skygod1need help with neck turning
I just bought the K&M neck turning tool and was wondering why there is an expander plug included. What purpose does this serve, and why not just use whats in my dies already? I previously used the Lyman set up for neck turning and nothing like this there???

308SakoWhen the neck is expanded to approximately .001" over the turner's mandral you will understand why... ease of operation.

Skygod1I can understand the neck needing to be .001 over mandrel Diameter. but why a special expander and not a mandrel to match what the sizer die puts out?

K&W can control both the expander and the mandrel diameters. They have no control over what might be in your sizing die.
