I got a can of Imperial Sizing wax and stuck three shells in a row in .270 and 30-06. I cleaned the dies with steel wool and the case still stuck. I never had this problem with Lee case lube so i used some of it instead of the Imperial, no stuck cases. Ive always heard good things about Imperial so what gives? Anyone else have trouble with cases sticking using Imperial? The dies were Lee for the .270 and Lyman for the 30-06. h.h.

Check with Imperial's new owner....Redding-Hornady....I forgot which bought the rights....BUT Imperial is best lube of the 4 that I have tried for all around use ....the sprays are nice for large bulk loading but my Imperial wax has done a few thousand cases from 223 to 300H/H and never a hint of sticking......I usually use finger application on clean cases and Q tip for inside neck when I don't use molly powder/shot for neck inside/outside lube......but some bad product may have been released by accident.....let the board know what you find out and good luck and good shooting-loading with slick as glass cases!!

Sounds more like operator error in application, than a lube failure problem.

If you want to do one at a time, wipe your finger on the ISDW, massage it into yout thumb/indes & middle finger than use those 3 fingers to apply it to the case body, below the shoulder.
If you want to do "bulk" lubing, massage a pea size chunk into the palms of your hands, than "spin" 5 at a time between the palms of your hands (same motion you'd use to warm up your hands on a cool day)

I use Imperial Wax exclusively now, after trying others. Imperial is the best. I do one at a time as Tailgunner describes above. Never had a stuck case, which I did have using Hornady's one shot spray stuff. I use Imperial on the case bodies, and powdered graphite on the necks, inside and out. I keep the Imperial off the shoulders so they don't dimple.

No operator error...Ive reloaded thousands of rounds of bottleneck and straight wall cases. Ive always used Lee and decided to try Imperial. The Imperial i got is sticking cases and when using Lee it doesnt. Maybe i got a bad can. I know after drilling three cases in a row to remove them from the dies I'm not to happy with Imperial. h.h.

I stopped using a pad years ago, it's One Shot all the time every time now.

Sticking, Yes, in the begining, I had a couple but once you learn how to apply the stuff it's the fastest easiest IMO.

Place the cases in a Zip-Loc bag, Qt. or two, Spray good then zip, stir, and let dry a minute or two. Clean your dies of old lube and give them a quick squirt of One shot. I have loaded 30-06 down to 9MM like this thousands of rounds and no failures. When I first read and begin using this method 223's were running so slick it didn't feel like they were getting sized.

Standing large bottle neck cases up in loading blocks and spraying isn't going to work well with One Shot.

I have never had a stuck case with Imperial. But I have had stuck cases with Lee.One Shot and RCBS lubes.
Go figure.

I've never had a stuck case with any lube. However Imperial is the slickest lube I've ever tried. I can't believe how well it works. On sizing virgin brass I got bored and wanted to test it. After sizing 5 cases with lube I sized 3 without. Not a problem at all. I didn't push the envelope though. But 3 cases with no lube is exemplary. They were 300 WW cases.

Almost anything will work for case lube. I like Mobil 1 10-30 better than anything, works perfect and real easy to clean up.Less than $6 a quart. You can size a lot of cases with a quart.

I knew one character who used Vasalene . . . On his cases I mean.
