FlipFavorite Cartridge to Load
338 Winchester, put bullets in one hole with not much of a fuzz

jrslateFor me, it's the 7 Mag and the .303 British....both easy to load, and both very effective. I think I may have gotten lucky, but so far I've come up with 10 loads that average sub-MOA accuracy in my Ruger M77 MkII.....that's 10 loads, using 6 different bullets.
The .303 speaks for itself....easy on the shoulder, mild muzzle blast, inexpensive to load, and very effective on game at reasonable ranges.

EXPRESSI enjoyed making up 6PPC and seeing what they can do if you go through all the "frigmarole" to get everything just perfect.
So what's yours Pecos45?

badgerrrFavorite round to load, huh?
Well, it would have to have a rim.
It would have to have a straight case that could be used in a carbide resizer...(no case lube foolishness)
Have to do it's best work with cast lead bullets.
Hmmmm...for me....that brings it down to:
45 Long Colt
357 magnum
38 special
I love to reload the .375hh, just to handle those long cases and meaty bullets...
My 7RM is a lot more challenging, involving (in my "case", hehe) case forming, neck turning and lots of other fun stuff. More fun, but for pure relaxation, the .375...

andrew375I second trb on the .375 H&H. I like the round so much I use it in my username.
The sound those big cases make when they clink against each other and the sound of 50+ gr. of N140 whooshing through the measure are both something you do not get with the .223. Also the feeling I get with a handful of those cartridges when freshly loaded is indescribable; i just feel like I can take on the world.
Added to this is that the bullets come out of moulds I made, are vertually free, and I know the ammo and rifle will perform. I must shoot over a thousand rounds of .375 per year, I cannot get enough of it.
Is it possible to have an inaccurate load for this cartridge?

frankeI'm sorta "streaky"in my preferences.
My first favorite was the '06.Currently,I'm hung up on the 30/30. For a long while,it was the 45/70.
But over the 60year span,my favorite shooter has been the 30/40 Krag. It's easy to load, the cases last forever, and it shoots everything that I put in it,pretty well.
