POP6mm 85 gr Partition in 243 Win?
Has anyone of you guys used this one? What are your loads. Accuracy? velocity? What was game performance like? Is the 95 gr a better for antelope/deer?

KingfisherPOP, sorry no one is responding to your post. I haven't used the 85 gr. Partitions in my 243, but I've shot a bunch of the 95 gr. Ballistic Tips, and they are THE bullet atleast for my gun, and they're perfect for deer/antelope sized game.

FjoldI've used it for antelope up in Wyoming and may bring it next fall for a Montana speed goat hunt.
Best load that I've found is using max loads of IMR4064 which gives me 3400 fps and three shots into .75" @ 100 Yds. My 243 has a lot of freebore from years of varmint shooting so I'm loading the cartridge long and still jumping a long way to the lands.

joecool544POP I can't say much about the .243 I don't have one but I have a 6mmAI that shoots 100gr partitions at 3300fps. It's great even killed three Elk with that load shot clean through two of them. Try them in your .243 good luck.

POPI decided to go with the 95 gr Partitions just to have that extra little insurance for big mulies. ....
Any experience with these?

Scout Master 54I use the 95g Partitions in my .243 Win. I was having trouble with penetration on slight angle shots with the B-tip. It solved the problem and I'll not go back. As expected both expansion and penetration are good and it has accounted for many white tails. I am using the 95g Par., 44.0g of AA 3100, CCI BR-2 primers in Rem. brass. I also tried the 100g Par. but found the 95g offering more accurate from my old Rem. 700 carbine.

FjoldPop I never give charge weights for loads because every gun is different. In my 243 with the bullet loaded long in the case and over .125" of freebore the cases are not expanding in front of the web appreciably and they are lasting me over dozen reloads and still counting.

vapodogI've used the 85 Grain particians in the .243 simply for pronghorns.
My 22" barrel smokes them along at roughly 3,100'/sec.....it's accuracy as I recall was about 1 1/4" at 100 yards and it does indeed kill pronghorns.
I have little doubt that it'd work for deer as well.

knobmtnI've used Nosler partitions in .243's for over 30 years. I've killed over 15 deer with the 85 gr. My girlfriend made a one shot kill on a 170lb buck this year with that bullet in a Model 7. The round was loaded only a little over a chrono.2800 fps, She took the lungs out and had an exit wound.
