Ballistic software
I am interested in buying a ballistics program for my PC. Who makes the best? I am more interested in its user-friendliness than in the cost. Thanks.

free and easy, once you know your bullet information and velocity.

Not useful unless you already know velocity.

Rather than spend your money try this software that you can download for free - it is the best I have seen - including all the big name programs.

down load "PointBlank" software.
There is a new version in the works that will be even better but this version is better than anything you can buy - and its free

Speer, Sierra, Lyman, Hornady, Hodgdon have reliable reloading data. You won't find it on so and so's web page.

Swampcat,

I use this one most for external ballistics.

Get the 'power' or optic that your eye likes instead of what someone else says.

When we go to the doctor they ask us what lens we like!

Do that with your optics.

It depends if you want only external or also internal ballistics.

The computation of a flight path is pretty easy, calculations of internal combustion, pressures and resulting velocities are much more complex.

If you want a program that does both you should look at QuickLoad.

ballistics program

I guess it comes down to what you want out of a ballistics program. There are numerous programs that provide external ballistics calculations, load records, gun inventories, recoil calculators, etc.

There are a few programs that try to predict internal ballistics. These programs are not for new reloaders or the faint of hart.

The programs already mentioned are pretty good to not so good, check them out and see if they work for you.
