Press advice
I would like to upgrade my single stage press. I am considering the RCBS Supreme, Forster co-ax, or Redding Ultra-Mag. The only advice that I have gathered is from Sinclair precision and the tech stated that the 510 express will not fit well in the Forster product and he suggested the Redding Ultra-mag.

Thank you!

The Co-ax press is an excellent concept, but it requires that you retrofit all of your dies with the proper locking ring. That can be both expensive and time consuming if you have a lot of dies.

I like the open-front design and easy access of the Redding Ultra Mag, as well as it's hell-for-stout compound leverage design. If I were to buy a new single-stage press it would be the Ultra Mag -- but there's no way I can justify it because my 20 year-old O-frame press (or just about any old O-frame press) will do the job just fine.

I uped to a RCBS AmmoMaster because of the large window & compound leverage. It's designed for the .50BMG & handles everything else w/ ease.

Just a correction on the co-ax. You don't have to retrofit all of you dies locking rings, most locking rings are compatable with the co-ax. Any time spent changing the rings will more than be offset by the time savings swapping between dies on the press.

I'll probably go with the Redding.

What is the best on-line source to purchase an ultra-mag press?

I just got done reading through the archives and find myself waffling between the Forster Co-Ax and the Redding Ultra-Mag. Both presses are about the same price and I need to make a decision on how well the 510 Wells will fit in the forster. I am leaning towards the ultra-mag as I will not have to retro-fit die rings and I know for a fact that my 510 Wells WILL fit inside the frame. BUT, the Forster is a cool looking press and I like the concept and MAYBE higher potential for better loaded rounds with reduced run-out.

I will keep my RCBS Jr-2 for my pistols. I currently reload for:

1. 45 acp
2. 40 S&W
3. 6.5 Swede
4. 6 BR bench rifle
5. 308 Win
6. 30-06
7. 510 Wells
8. 223 Rem for Service rifle

Thank you and I am sorry about repeating a topic that gets re-hashed over and over again. I want to spend the money only once and want this decision to be as well researched as possible.
