what shot gun shells are best to buy .to keep the emptys n reload with.hope fully from say walmart.

In 12 Ga., Any cheap remington hull will reload the same as their premium shells (Nitro & Premier STS). This is not true with Winchester -their promo red hulls are not worth reloading, & the AA's are pretty pricy if you are buying to fire & reload. Federal's low priced shells have a paper basewad that can dislodge and create a barrel obstruction after a few reloads. The cheap Remingtons (game loads, gun clubs, sport loads, etc.) are the same, one piece construction as their premium shells and can be reloaded multiple times (I have some that have been reloaded 8-10 times). I personally prefer the black game loads, but they will all work OK & use the same press settings as the Nitro and PSTS hulls.

Ditto, it's Double "A's" for me, in 12 and 20 gage. In 410, it's anything I can find...

The cheap Remingtons from Walmart are about as good as it gets. New AA's are two piece hulls. The early runs did not hold up well, at all. Current runs of Federal Gold Medal's are coming apart at the brass, too. FWIW, Dutch.

The rem. STS is just the best for reloading, better than the old compression formed AA one piece hull. The current two piece AA is junk, worse that some federal bargain basement shells.

The remington gun club shells are the old RXP hull. Nothing wrong with them, but they're only good for 6 good tight crimps before the mouth cracks. The rem. premier is no longer made, they were good for maybe 10 loads. They had too much crimp memory, they would snag wads, tearing the edge of the over power cup. They still fired, but with a hollow PANGE!

I currently have a bunch of once fired I don't need if someone wants them for the postage to ship them
