mogunrPowder measure question
I had a friend give me an old Hornady Pro-jector that's in good shape and I was hoping to get it set-up to load .45 acp and maybe
.223. I've got almost everything but I'm not sure what I need as far as a powder measure. I've got a Lee Perfect Powder measure but it
doesn't seem like the ideal set-up. Any suggestions for something that I could use now and use on a newer press when I upgrade?
What other accessories will I need? I've got a Lee powder through/expander for the .45 will I need something like that for loading .223?
Thanks

homebrewerI don't know nothin' about presses that can handle more than one case at a time. I'd look at the RCBS powder measure. Lots of people seem to like them. That, or the Dillon...

muckI think homebrewer hit a home run with the RCBS uniflow powder measure. Pretty tough to beat.

Winchester 69I'll suggest the Hornady powder measure with its case-activated powder drop. It's what's supplied with the the AP and is an excellent measure.
Edit: You were too quick or me, Vapo.

sidewinder72I will vote for RCBS uniflow powder measure. I have one with small cylinder and one with the large cylinder.

I don't know what the RCBS does that the Hornady rotary measure doesn't. The Hornady is a decent measure, especially with the powder baffle.

Frankly nothing.
I've used an rcbs uniflow and lil dandy, harrells, lee (a couple different styles) and several others that don't come to mind at this time. But I have no experience with Hornady's powder measures.
Just stating my opinion based upon my experience. That is why I did not make mention of what I know not.

BECooleI'm sure the RCBS is a fine measure, it just seems like it might simplify things going with a Hornady measure on a Hornady press.
