PeterPanPrimers
I was asked by someone who starts his reloadings about using Large Rifle primer instead Large magnum primer in 7Rem Mag.
Is it safe to use Large Rifle priemer, and what would or would not happen using it?
Thanks
Peter

DutchI do it all the time. Some large rifle primers are actually more "powerful" than some "magnum" primers.
For the 7mag, the Fed210 and the WLR are plenty fine, with the possible exception of surplus ball powders in extremely cold temperatures (well below freezing). HTH, Dutch.

StonecreekWhat Dutch said.
Instances where a "magnum" primer provides measurably better performance than a "standard" primer are rare. I use "standards" with charges of 80+ grains of WC 872, one of the slowest ball powders available, and experience perfect ignition, consistency, and accuracy.
