jnc91What rifle is he using? Kev's loads are in a modern 86 Winchester. Pressures are in the 45-50 kpsi range. Those loads would be a bomb in an antique rifle. Just a warning.....

KevHI,
I have used Kodiak Bonded core bullets with my 50-110 and they are the only jacketed bullets I have used. I have the 500 grain going around 2200fps out of a 22.5 inch barrel.Tell him to use H4895 and start with 79 grains and work up to 81.5 , he must have a newer win 86 or 71 lever do not use an older model. Thnaks,Kev

jnc91Hey Kev,
I wasn't trying step all over you or anything. I was just concerned that he might search some of the older posts and not realize that your loads are developed in a modern gun.

KevHI,
JNC91, I agree with you 100%, that is why I also stated the newer win 86 or 71.Thanks,Kev

460wbyHupp.
The rifle, I was told, is a old Winchester High-wall.
The Accurate Arms manual has some data with 5744 powder that will work for the highwall.
