One bullet for 221 fireball and 223 rem
I'm starting to reload for my 221 fireball and my 223
have been shooting 50gr Remingtons in the 221 and 55s in the 223 would like to see about using just 55's in both to save on confusion and all that and I like heavier bullets. Any thoughts on this and anyone have a good load for the 221 fireball with 55s
thanks
todd

Umm both of those are the same caliber, but they are 2 different chamberings in that caliber.

Either caliber will shoot either weight reasonably well. The little .221 will be getting a little on the slow side with 55's, depending on what it is you want to shoot with it. I think I would first look at using 50's in both of my rifles.

But every rifle is an individual, and you have to work up loads for them individually. You may find that a both rifles don't "like" the same bullet. I would use whatever 50 grainer worked best in my .221 (I actually prefer a 40 grain Ballistic Tip in my .221) and whatever 50 or 55 grainer worked best in my .223.

Keeping two different bullets in stock is an insignificant issue for most handloaders. I'll bet I've got at least 50 different bullets for 10 different calibers in my reloading cabinet right now.

I have several of each of those, and shoot 40 V max and 40 BTs in all of them.
